Role Summary:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead projects, provide design expertise, and help grow a team of designers and engineers. This role involves working on complex and exciting designs using modern techniques, ensuring specifications and deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading/producing technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models that meet our specifications and client needs.
- Perform and/or evaluate all appropriate calculations required for the electrical design packages and verify all applicable codes have been incorporated.
- Manage project lifecycles on multiple concurrent projects, including team workload, project schedules, budget, and client communication to ensure on-time delivery of deliverables and client satisfaction.
- Effectively lead and mentor the Electrical Engineering staff with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
- Apply standard design techniques and procedures, exercising judgment in making adaptations and modifications to design concepts. Ensure quality control by complying with company and team design and CAD standards.
- Direct and coordinate work for team on single and multidiscipline projects, collaborating with other disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) to produce design packages.
- Perform field verifications/site walks and site surveys to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages.
- Oversee construction administration and troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction.
- Prepare project proposals, participate in client interviews and presentations, and support business development efforts.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Meet subcontractors on site as necessary.
- Interface with local government agencies and code officials as required for design.
- Identify construction conflicts and provide viable solutions/recommendations.
- Perform other duties, as necessary.
Job Qualifications:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent engineering education.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10+ years of experience, with at least 2 years as a PE.
- Understanding of and experience with the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Experience working within an architecture/engineering consulting firm, specifically within electrical design for buildings.
- Solid knowledge of AutoDESK Revit preferred.
- Desire to grow and lead a team, with strong individual and team collaboration skills.
