Job Summary:
AXIOM Engineering Group is seeking a Structural Engineer to become a member of the firm.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Framing layout from schematic design to construction documents.
- Perform all gravity/lateral calculations.
- Select best building material based on framing efficiency, architectural constraints, contractor experience and cost.
- Specify framing sizes and connections.
- Coordinate with design team professionals in order to provide solutions where collision of systems is detected.
- Create REVIT drawings for projects.
- Detail load paths for gravity and lateral elements.
- Wall sections
- Custom details
- Create specifications / schedules for all structural materials being used on the project. Create separate specifications manual if required.
- Provide engineering support during project construction. This includes submittal review / approval, responding to RFI’s, and attending project meetings when required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Site surveys of existing buildings, as required for design.
- Meet subcontractors on site as necessary.
- Meet with clients and give presentations on project design(s).
- Interface with local government agencies and code officials as required for design.
- Identify construction conflicts and provide viable solutions / recommendations.
- Project management of assigned projects, including:
- Client and internal leadership communication.
- Project staff, schedule, and budget management and reporting.
- Bi-weekly project status reports.
- Support to billing and collection processes.
Job Qualifications:
- B.S. of Civil or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent engineering education.
- At least (3) years of directly related experience in the field.
- Solid knowledge of AutoDesk REVIT modeling system (preferred).
- Strong structural, analytical, and technical skills.
- Ability and eagerness to work efficiently in both collaborative team and independent project settings.
- Professional and friendly communication style.

Schedule:
- Full-time
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional travel to headquarters and site visits to projects
